The release of the Spanish property market to foreign investors
is considered one of the most effective measures taken by the government in the
field of economic policy. Since its launch, hundreds of foreigners (especially
from France, Belgium, Great Britain and Germany) have acquired a property in
Spain, most of them to enjoy the good weather that offers our country. In
recent years the Costa Brava has also attracted many investors from the Russian
market, most of them looking for luxury properties. This growth has strongly
stimulated the tourism and the Real Estate market.
Considered the most exclusive coastline of Spain by the foreign
buyer, the towns of the Empordà districts, placed under the French border and
come close to Barcelona, for its strategic location that is open to all its
services, is one of the most sought after. In villages like Calella de Palafrugell,
Llafranc, Tamariu and Begur, the protection of the coast with regard to
construction, and sustainable tourism, compared to the other coast with massive
construction in front of the beaches, has always been the main reason that
attracts national and foreign tourists.
The complicated terrain of the beaches of Girona, which left out
the area of major urbanizations, has made the housing stock with no buyer, is
less. But sales are still in the same vein as in the rest of Spain and this has
led to adjust prices with discounts of 10% to 30% last year.
The current situation is a great investment opportunity.
It also includes the granting of a residence permit for foreigners who invest in Spain, which has already entered into force. The regulation establishes that non-resident foreigners can obtain a residence permit provided they make a significant capital investment or buy a home from 500,000 euros
